Shelby County District Attorney's Office Restitution Recovery

Restitution Recovery Court

When court cases are pled in the courtroom and there is a victim involved, the defendant is usually ordered a future date to appear in Restitution Recovery Court. This is held monthly by Judge Alvis and an Assistant District Attorney. Payment arrangements are set up and a new court date is scheduled.

Restitution Recovery Unit

Circuit Court, Traffic and District Court cases are turned over to the Restitution Recovery Unit after the court ordered payment due date and 90 days have passed. Cards are sent to

defendants telling them that their case is delinquent and advises them to contact the District Attorney’s office. These cases are also sent to the District Attorney’s Office and a letter with an agreement is then mailed with specific instructions.

Any further questions can be directed to 205 670-9792.
